Question Answer
Point data A reference of a location/node depicted as a symbol.
Line data A network; Indicates flows of traffic, water, people (streets) etc.
Vector data attributes; geographical features expressed in geometric shapes.
Raster data An image made by pixels constructed by a column of grids and cells. Each cell has one value.
Geodetic datum Calculates the earth's surface, taking into consideration heights above and below earth's surface.
Datum A measure of data representing the area if a feature.
Ellipsoid When representing the earth as an ellipse rotating on a minor axis.
Geoid A hypothetical surface that models the earth's oceans if there was no irregularities such as mountains.
Metadata Information stored about the characteristics of a piece of data.
