The Turing Test
- Alan Turing (1950)
.
Basicly Alan Turing proposed the 6 disciplines of AI with his test that last for almost 60 years, until new AI researchers came with another approach
The following capabilities are what a computer needs in order to pass Turing's Test.
Natural language processing.
Knowledge representation.
Automated reasoning.
Machine learning.
Computer vision.
Robotics.
The Cognitive Modeling Approach
In order to say that certain program can think like a human, human mind must be analyzed. This can be done with 3 methods.
Through Introespection, physicological experiments or brain imaging.
It is thanks to Cognitive Science that AI computer models and Physicological experiments can come together to create a testable human mind theories.
The “laws of thought” approach
This approach is based in logic ruled by laws wich claimed to always get correct answers within correct premises.
however there where 2 obstacles with this approach.
Knowledge is never 100% certain and problems can be solved in many ways and not always get to de same result.
The rational agent approach
This approach was made expecting machines called rational agents act to achive the best autcome by perciving their surroundings and evirontment.
Despite this approach has certain advantage over the others it is still not posible to achive perfect rationality
