Farmers were planting and seeding the rich soil

this was growing season

The flood waters receded leaving a layer of rich black soil

March to May

It was harvesting season for the crops

was about to flood once again during this season

The fully grown crops had to be cut down (harvested) by the farmers and removed before the Nile flooded again. it was also the time for the farmers to repair the canals ready for the next flood

There were no crops at this time due to flooding

It flooded this season

Happened from Mid summer early fall

Many farmers worked for the pharaoh (king), building pyramids or temples. Some of the time was spent mending their tools and looking after animals
