Reported verbs "go back one tense"

Present perfect ----> Past perfect

Example:

"I´ve finished my homework "--> "She said she had finished her homwork"

Present continuous ----> Past continuous

Exeptions

Thera are no changes if:

The reporting verb is in the prsent tense

The statement is still true

Example:

"I´m going to Jenny´s " ---> "She said she was going to Jenny´s"

Pronouns also change when necessary:

"I´m going" ---> "She was going"

Some modal verbs change:

Will - Would

Can - Could

May - Might

Must- Had to

Other modals don´t change:

Should- Should
