definition of biomolecules
A biomolecule is a chemical compound found in living organisms. They are made up of chemical substances composed mainly of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, sulfur and phosphorus. Biomolecules are the foundation of life and fulfill essential functions for living organisms.
the types of biomolecules
which are:
1.carbohydrates,
2.lipids,
3.proteins,
4.nucleic
5. acids
the importance of each type for living things.
Structural functions :roteins and lipids serve as support material for cells, giving structure to the body and allowing the generation of membranes, tissues, etc.
Biomolecules are important not only because they fulfill vital functions of support, regulation and transport of the body of living beings, but because they integrate their bodies themselves, that is, our bodies are made of them. Biomolecules integrate to form successively larger, thus forming cells and various tissues of the body. Without them, we simply could not exist.
