Usually to get Login IDs and passwords
An email that tricks you to give away personal information
You get what looks like a legit email from a company such as TSB
This email urges you to visit a fake website where you put in your info
That info is then recorded and passed onto the phishers
A successful phishing
campaign gets around a 5% respond rate
A typical Phishing email is this.

Watch out for the following:
Greeting: The phishers do not know your name. so the greeting isn't personal
The Senders Address: is often a variation on a genuine address
Forged Link: The link looks to be genuine but may not link you to the website. Roll your mouse over to check it
Request for personal information: Genuine organisations never do this.
