     • Internal vs external features; can't recognise modified faces

   • Quinn: look equally at internal features scrambled and non-scambled. Difference at 3mo
   • Robledo: longitudinal study; interest in objects decreases, interest in faces does not

2. Gender

   • Prefer the gender of their primary caregiver; probably experience

3. Emotion

   • Preference for happy faces; probably experience
   • Roberson: 4 emotions, 3 conditions; >9 difficulty with sunglasses and masks (disrupts configural processing); younger children were better with sunglasses (focuses attention of relevant feature)

4. Object

   • Gamma activity is different for faces than for objects
   • EEG: N170 larger and longer for upright faces, compared to inverted; not found in objects
   • Gergely: infants attribute a goal to an animate object, but not an inanimate one
