Main Memory

1. RAM

   • Random access memory and stores information temporarily and the information will be lost when the computing system is turned off

2. ROM

   • Read only memory can't write but can only read. The data is stored permentley even when the computer system is turned off

3. Cache

   • Stores data and helps speed up accessing ROM and RAM

4. Volatile

   • Memory that is stored while the computer is running but deleted when the computer is turned off

5. Non-Volatile

   • Memory that is kept even when the computer is turned off

6. Virtual memory

   • Memory that appears as main storage but is supported by secondary storage
