2. RAM-random access memory

   • volatile when the PC is switched on and the data will be saved
   • stores data:docs,files
   • programs currently in use

3. ROM-read only memory

   • non volatile-when the PC is switched off the data is lost
   • stores op systems, etc things that are needed when the computer is switched off.
