1. CPU

   • The CPU is the 'brain' of the computer
   • It is a microprocessor
   • The CPU performs tasks of fetching, decoding, and managing the execution of instructions
   • Arithmatic logic unit- Translates Binary to the human language
   • Clock speed
     • The rate the CPU processes data at
     • The higher the clock speed the faster the CPU
   • Cache Memory
     • Is a small chunk of fast memory in the CPU
     • Helps increase the speed and performance of the computer
     • The more 'cores' in the computer the faster it is
   • The Fetch execute cycle
     • Is the continuous cycle a computer works in
     • The way in which the computer fetches, decodes and executes instructions.

2. Input and out put devices

   • E.g. keyboard, speakers, mouse, printer, scanner etc
   • Without input and output devices, you would not be able to use your computer properly
   • Some input or output devices are required to use certain things on a computer e.g. a keyboard is needed for typing
   • Some users require more advanced technology as inputs or outputs like programming equipment or game developing
