1. secondary storage

   • solid state drive
     • disadvantage
       • it is less cost affective than magnetic storage
     • advantages
       • its read/write speed is faster than magnetic storage
   • magnetic storage
     • advantages
       • it is quite cheap
     • disadvantages
       • it is quite valuble
   • optical storage
     • disadvantage
       • it is easy to break
     • advantages
       • a large storage compacity is available

2. Computer Components

   • RAM
     • Stores the programs, parts of the operating system and the files currently being used
   • Hard drive
     • Stores all the programs, operating systems and files needed for the computer system to run
   • CPU (Central processing unit)
     • Fetches, decodes and executes data and/or instructions
   • Clock speed
     • The number of fetch decode execute cycles a CPU can perform per second. This is measured in hertz (Hz)
   • cores
     • The number of independent processors in the CPU which run the fetch decode execute cycle simultaneously.

3. computer Variables

   • lives
     • integer
       • it counts down how many lives you have left
   • score
     • integer
       • it counts how many coins/points you have on the game
   • timer
     • real
       • it times how long it takes you to complete a level
