HUMAN MEMORY

  1. Process in which the mind interprets, stores, and retrieves information

    • Memory and the learning process
      • learning is a process that will modify a subsequent behaviour
        • Memory is essential to all learning, because it lets you store and retrieve the information that you learn. Memory is basically nothing more than the record left by a learning process.
          • Memory: is the ability to remember past experiences.
  2. How do we form memories?

    • There are three major ways of processing the memory
      • encoding: when any event, person, object or stimuli are sensed to be important
      • storage: memory is stored or kept in the brain to be used in due time.:
      • retrieval: process by which the memory that was once encoded and stored is recalled for use
  3. Types of memory

    • Long-term memory : our brain’s system for storing, managing, and retrieving information.
      • 1. Explicit Memory
      • 2. Implicit Memory
      • 3. Autobiographical Memory
      • 4. Memory & Morpheus
    • Short-Term Memory:: is the very short time that you keep something in mind before either dismissing it or transferring it to long-term memory
