Bus Network

1. All devices are connected to the network and share a common cable called the backbone

   • Signals are passed in either direction along the backbone

2. Advantages

   • Cost effective due to small amount of cabling needed
   • Simple cable makes it easy to install
   • Easy to add devices to the network

3. Disadvantages

   • If more than 15 devices are connected, performance is slower
   • If backbone cable breaks, whole network goes down
