Arguments, predicators and predicates

  1. Semantic Analysis: The semantic analysis of declararive sentence reveals two major semantics roles by differets subparts of the sentences; the roleof predicartor and rol of arguments

    • Arguments
      • An arguments is the entity about which a predicator is made
        • It´s an indvidual independent entity the role is played by the refrerring expressions
          • Examples
            • My mom gave me a cake: the argument is MOM.
    • Predicator
      • The predicator of simple detective sentence is the word (sometimes a group of words) which does not belong to any of the referring expressions
        • Example
          • My mom gave me a cake: the pedicator is GIVE ME
    • Predicates
      • They are any words that can fuction like the predicator of the sentence
        • Conjuntions can´t be predicates: and, or , but, not, etc.
          • Example
            • Phater: Yes it´s predicate
              • Through: It´s not a predicate
