      • Hormones
        • Insulin
  2. White Blood Cells (Leucocytes)

    • Colourless, no haemoglobin
    • Irregular in shape, has a nucleus
    • Can move & change its shape
    • Phagocytes
      • ingest foreign particles like bacteria
      • lobed nucleus
      • granular cytoplasm
    • Lymphocytes
      • large rounded nucleus
      • small amount of non-granular cytoplasm

      • increase SA to VR
        • absorb and release o2 at a faster rate
    • No nucleus
      • can carry more haemoglobin, more o2
    • Elastic, can turn bell-shaped
      • squeeze through blood vessels
    • Produced by bone marrow, destroyed in the spleen
      • Haemoglobin released from destroyed rbcs brought to liver and broken down
