7.3 - Computational Thinking
Computational thinking - Computational thinking allows us to take a complex problem, understand what the problem is and develop possible solutions. We can then present these solutions in a way that a computer, a human, or both, can understand.
Abstraction - Focusing on the important parts of a problem.
Decomposition - breaking down a complex problem into smaller parts.
Pattern recognition - Looking for similarities among and within problems.
Algorithms - simple, instructions intended for a robot to carry out.
Sequence - following an ordered set of instructions
Terminator - Shows the start and stop points of the algorithm
Selection - Making a decision within a computer program to decide which instruction to carry out next.
Decision - A decision, either yes or no.
Connector - connects the flowchart shapes.
Process - An instruction or command.
Input/output - An input is data received by a computer. An output is a data sent from a computer.
