MICROPROCESSORS

MICROPROCESSORS

1. It is the central and most complex integrated circuit of a computer system; by way of illustration, it is often associated by analogy as the "brain" of a computer.

2. MICROPROCESSOR ARCHITECTURE

   • CONTROL UNIT
   • CACHE
   • PRE-CAPTURE UNIT
   • DECODING UNIT
   • ARITHMETIC LOGIC UNIT
   • MEMORY RECORDS

3. PROCESS

   • The user enters the data, which is sent to the pre-search unit of the microprocessor. The unit determines what type of action is being ordered and assigns it to a pre-set type of action.

4. MICROPOCESSOR BRANDS

   • INTEL
   • AMD
   • CYRIX
   • VIA
   • NEXGEN

5. CLOCK SPEED AND MICROPROCESSOR BUS SPEED

   • It refers to the speed of the microprocessor. For example, to process an instruction, say something, a multiplication, let's say that microprocessor requires 5 clock cycles.
