ARITHMETIC PROGRESSION
GENERAL TERM
- WHEN FIRST TERM IS GIVEN
- * nth term of A.P. is Tn = a+(n-1)d , a= First Term, d= Common Difference, n= No. of Terms
- WHEN LAST TERM IS GIVEN
- GENERAL TERM OF A.P. = l, l-d, l-2d...is Tn = l+(n-1)(-d) where l = Last Term
- WHEN FIRST TERM IS GIVEN
SUM of n term
- Sn = n/2 [2a+(n-1)d] or n/2 [a+l] where l=a+(n-1)d is the Last Term.
DEFINITION
- Arithmetic Progression is a sequence in which each term is obtained by adding a first number to the proceed term. Each number of A.P. which is in sequence is called a term of A.P.
ARITHMETIC MEAN
- Arithmetic Mean between a & b is a+b/2
COMMON DIFFERENCE
- Difference between two successive terms of an A.P. is called common difference (d)
