Digital Citizenship

  1. Secure your secrets

    • OnePassword
    • Hard to guess, easy to remember
    • Nothing common should be used as a password
  2. Share with care

    • Don't put personal info online
    • Don't trust your mates with passwords
    • Think before you post! Don't share any info online that a criminal could use.
    • Don't use the same password for all your accounts
  3. Spreading good vibes

    • If you see bullying or rude things being said online, report it!
    • See it, say it, sorted!
    • Don't post anything that can upset people
    • Block the bullies!
  4. Don't fall for fake

    • Scam
      • If it seems to good to be true, it normally is!
      • Even if it is true, it may have not been ethically made. Slavery, poor payment ect
    • Aimed at children. Free Robux! Free Vbux! Fat chance
    • Emails/texts from people you don't know. 'Hi! Your mate Sam told me about you. I want to meet you. Where do you live' If you get something like this from a person who you do not know, keep the message as evidence and immediately tell a trusted adult. Also, warn your peers as they could of got the same message. The same goes for things like people asking for money, saying you won something that you didn't apply for ect.
    • Fake URLs are hard to spot if you are not cautious
      • They could trick you into entering passwords or even instal a virus on your computer
  5. When things go wrong

    • Logic and a little bit of info can be strung together to create a lot of info. A lot of people share more than they realise, don't be one of them!
    • If it's on the internet, it isn't private!
    • Criminals ARE interested in that information
    • You can only be protected if you make it known to a trusted adult
    • To avoid criminals, you need to think like a criminal. What could be found out from what you post?
    • Don't befriend strangers! They will try to get close to you but you best not let it get really bad by dealing with it ASAP
      • Don't reply as this will push them to keep messaging
      • Keep the messages as evidence if it goes to court
      • You are not automatically your friends' friends' friends
        • They may not have been careful about who they accept as friends and may not know who they are chatting to
          • By accepting their friends you are putting yourself in danger
            • You do not know who they really are
