Super Smash Bros. Algorithim
Prescribed Criteria
- 1. Develop an Algorithm using Pseudocode conventions
- Develop an algorithm for one of the games – Super Smash Bros.
- Pseudocode Conventions must be used in the algorithm. Such as all key words must be written in bold and capital, use indication when a code belongs to a particular block of code, START or END should be at the should be at the beginning and end of the algorithm
- Example keywords for pseudocode-IF/IF ELSE, IS EQUAL TO, START, END, THEN, WHILE
- 2. Super Smash Bros
- Develop an ultimate high damage finishing offensive strategy to eliminate the opponent
- Create a high damaging strategy
- The strategy should be offensive which means that we do not need to create defensive moves
- The moves should be ultimately eliminate the opponent
- Use five (5) conditions (IF/IF ELSE, ELSE)
- The pseudocode must include 5 unique moves to damage the opponent using IF, ELIF and ELSE
- Example offensive moves: Back throw - 9% damage Forward Tilt – 10% damage Forward Smash – 20% dmg Volt Tackle – 12% damage Skull Bash – 21.4% dmg
- Develop an ultimate high damage finishing offensive strategy to eliminate the opponent
- 1. Develop an Algorithm using Pseudocode conventions
Algorithmic Constructs
- Sequence
- A set of instructions, in the order of when to do it
- START. INPUT: Click on character choice OUTPUT: Let’s Brawl!
- Example
- Defenition
- START. INPUT: Click on character choice OUTPUT: Let’s Brawl!
- A set of instructions, in the order of when to do it
- Assignment
- "Assigning" a value to a variable
- DECLARE: “CharacterName” SET “CharactetName” to Ryu OUTPUT “Let’s go, Ryu!”
- "Assigning" a value to a variable
- Selection
- A selection statement that guides the program on what to do next
- INPUT fight results IF Ryu won THEN OUTPUT MESSAGE: “Ryu is the winner”
- A selection statement that guides the program on what to do next
- Condition
- A sort of question that aids with the selection part of an Algorithmic Construct
- In Selection: IF Ryu won THEN
- A sort of question that aids with the selection part of an Algorithmic Construct
- Iteration
- When something is repeated over and over again. Repetition is also used for this definition. Words to direct the loop are: WHILE, FOR, and REPEAT. For example, FOR is used when knowing to amount of time the function is repeated.
- START FOR 7 steps INPUT Jump up and forward ENDFOR END
- When something is repeated over and over again. Repetition is also used for this definition. Words to direct the loop are: WHILE, FOR, and REPEAT. For example, FOR is used when knowing to amount of time the function is repeated.
- Sequence
Chosen Character Name
- Ryu (Street Fighter)
Chosen Character moves (RYU)
- FIreball (Ranged attack)
- Focus attack (Can break shields)
Hardware
- Screen
- The screen, in this case, is a TV. The base screen is the Nintendo Switch Console
- Joy-Con (Mini Controller)
- The Joy Cons are a pair of controllers that still work when detached from the base console, using BlueTooth and WiFi. They can be separated and be used as their own controller
- Nintendo Switch (Only Console)
- This is the base module of the Nintendo Switch, with a pre-built screen for handheld mode. When put in the dock, the Nintendo Switch will emit signals to the TV, and display the screen there
- Game Card (SSB or MarioKart 8 dlx)
- A game card is a mini-cartridge that, when put into a Nintendo Switch, will download a software for the cartridge you plugged in (E.G. Super Smash Bros. card will download Super Smash Bros.
