1. What is hardware?

   • It's a physical devices/component of a computer system. It will contain a circuit board, ICs and or other electronics. Examples of hardware are a computer screens, tablets and smartphones
   • Advantages and Disadvantages
     • ADVANTAGE: It supports PINsafe deployment, it can run command management interface (CMI) functions and it can test and support tools in CMI
     • DISADVANTAGES: It can normally cost quite a bit to buy hardware, sometimes it can be difficult to upgrade and it can take up physical space (wiring)

2. What is software?

   • It needs software to be able to run.
   • Software is a operating program that runs on the computer.
   • Advantages and Disadvantages
     • ADVANTAGES: It's Reliable, it can be cheaper than manual work overall and it will usually have security/the software will allow you to get security software
     • DISADVANTAGES: it cannot run with out hardware, some software will need the internet to be used and using some software means that some people can potentially view it and exploit any vulnerabilities (open source software).

3. Why is software and hardware suitable for a business?

   • It's required to support the business's function
     • Accounting software
     • software can charge people money / money transfer
     • could base software
   • barcode scanners
   • Communication is important for a business to be able to run. It's important to get certain information across to the employmees
