Parenteral Medications
- SQ medications mostly given are insulin and some immunizations
- SQ injection sites: lateral aspect of upper arm, abdomen, and central third of anterior thigh
- IM injection site: vastus lateralis
- Needle length & gauge for paeds: 1/2 - 1 inch and 22 - 25 gauge
