1. Formulae

   • Differentiated by used an '=' sign
   • Cell References are used on formulae
   • 4 Main operations: Add (+), Subtract (-), Multiply (*) and Divide (/)
   • =Now() makes current time and date
   • Shows result of calculations rather than formula itself

2. Cells

   • Cell references - C6, B7, etc
   • (B6:D7) = Cell range
   • Different types of data can be entered : Numbers, text, currency, date, etc
   • Label : Text used largely for description purposes. Not included in calculations
   • Data : Numbers used in calculations
   • Formula = a mathematical calculation automatically carries out once you have entered it correctly

3. Formatting

   • How items are lined in a cell, (left, right, centre)
   • Font style, size and colour can be changed
