1. Serial Numbers

   • Ensure you keep a list of the serial numbers of equipment so that if the police recover it you can get it back from them.

2. Avoid

   • Avoid placing IT equipment on the groundfloor of a building in order to make it more difficult to steal it.

3. Doors

   • Install doors to rooms which contain IT equipment so that its harder to enter. You could even install heavy duty DOORS

4. Fire Protection

   • Use fire protection in all areas of the building with detectors and sounders. Use specially designed systems such at gas sprinklers which release CO2 or even Powder to extinguish fires.

5. Lock

   • Use locks on all internal and external entry points(doors and windows), you could even use an electronic FOB system for secure entry and exit.

6. Alarms

   • Use intruder alarms with internal motion detectors to secure the building when not in use.

7. Blinds

   • Simple blinds on windows can deter intruders from entry as it makes it difficult for them to find where equipment is located within the building.
