input, output&storage

  1. input

    • Input devices are something that connects to the computer like a keyboard, computer screen, mouse, printer or speakers.
  2. output

    • Output is something that gives you info like the screen and headphones .
  3. storage

    • Storage is where you store stuff like hard drives and discs and also the cloud.
  4. cpu

    • The CPU is the part of a computer system that is commonly referred to as the brains of a computer. The CPU is also known as the processor. If the CPU does not work than the whole computer doesn’t work.
  5. network

    • There are three types of network.lans, wans and star.lans are a computer network that links devices within a building or group of buildings, especially one with a radius of less than 1 km.wans are basically the same but cover a larger area. In a star network each device on the network has its own cable that connects to a switch or hub. A hub sends every packet of data to every device, whereas a switch only sends a packet of data to the destination device.
  6. motherboard

    • A motherboard is a printed circuit board containing the principal components of a computer or other device, with connectors for other circuit boards to be slotted into.
  7. RAM

    • RAM is a high-speed storage medium that can be accessed with minimal delay. Because the RAM is connected directly to the CPU via the memory bus, the CPU can access data stored in RAM very quickly.
  8. switch

    • A network switch is a computer networking device that connects devices together on a computer network by using packet switching to receive, process, and forward data to the destination device.
  9. server

    • A computer or device on a network that manages network resources. There are many different types of servers. For example: File server: a computer and storage device dedicated to storing files. Any user on the network can store files on the server.
  10. harddrive

    • A definition of hard drive is The primary computer storage device, which spins, reads and writes one or more fixed disk platters. The terms hard drive and hard disk are synonymous however, a drive technically refers to the entire unit that holds one or more disk platters.
  11. magnetic storage

    • Data storage is a critical component of any computer system. Magnetic storage is one of the most affordable ways to store large amounts of data and has been implemented using magnetic tape, floppy disks and hard disk drives.
  12. optical storange

    • Optical storage is the storage of data on an optically readable medium. Data is recorded by making marks in a pattern that can be read back with the aid of light, usually a beam of laser light precisely focused on a spinning optical disc.
  13. solid state storage
