SEMANTICS

1. Utterance

   • It's any stretch of talk by one person, before and after which there is silence on the part of that person
     • Examples
       • "Hello"
       • " Not much"

2. Sentence

   • It´s a string of words put together by the grammatical rules of a language
     • Examples
       • Does it make any sense to talk of the time and place for a sentence?
       • Can one talk of a slow utterance

3. Proposition

   • It´s that part of the meaning of the utterance of a declarative sentence which describes some states of affairs
     • Examples
       • The previous paragraph does a good job explaining what it is
       • Don't rely just on diet to get fit,you gotta work out as well
