1. Software Development Life Cycle Model

   • Requirements-gathering
     • which will do, how it will do and what data will be used.
   • Design
     • During the design phase, the designers attempt to turn the dreams of the managers and users into reality.
   • Implementation
     • the results of the design phase are translated into program code.
   • Testing
     • the results of the implementation phase are run through a series of tests
   • describe the planning, designing, coding, and testing of a software system

2. Waterfall Life Cycle Model

   • Advantages of the Waterfall model
     • easy for small projects
   • Disadvantages of the Waterfall model
     • not suitable for large projects due to their rigidityts.
   • Waterfall model is characterized by a series of steps that must be completed in a linear, sequential order.

3. V-Shaped Life Cycle Model

   • Advantages of the V-Shaped model
     • easy to use, for simple projects
   • Disadvantages of the V-Shaped model
     • difficult to add or change requirements, not suitable for large projects
   • like the cascade model, but with more testing

4. Incremental Life Cycle Model

   • Advantages of the Incremental model
     • flexible by adding or changing requirements
   • Disadvantages of the Incremental model
     • same as the previous models, is not suitable for large projects
   • each stage goes through a mini cascade process

5. Spiral Life Cycle Model

   • Advantages of the Spiral model
     • The focus on risk avoidance makes the Spiral model ideal for large-scale and mission- critical products.
   • Disadvantages of the Spiral model
     • more expensive, unsuitable for small projects
   • a project goes through each phase of the spiral repeatedly
