Networks Attacks
malware
- Malware, short for malicious software, is an umbrella term used to refer to a variety of forms of harmful or intrusive software, including computer viruses, worms, Trojan horses, ransomware, spyware, adware, scareware, and other malicious programs.
Phishing
- the fraudulent practice of sending emails purporting to be from reputable companies in order to induce individuals to reveal personal information, such as passwords and credit card numbers.
Ransomware
- Ransomware is a form of malware in which rogue software code effectively holds a user's computer hostage until a "ransom" fee is paid. Ransomware often infiltrates a PC as a computer worm or Trojan horse that takes advantage of open security vulnerabilities.
Trojan Horse
- In computing, a Trojan horse, or Trojan, is any malicious computer program which misleads users of its true intent. The term is derived from the Ancient Greek story of the deceptive wooden horse that led to the fall of the city of Troy.
Brute Force
- Brute force (also known as brute force cracking) is a trial and error method used by application programs to decode encrypted data such as passwords or Data Encryption Standard (DES) keys, through exhaustive effort (using brute force) rather than employing intellectual strategies.
Denial of service
- A botnet can be used to carry out a DDoS attack, which is far more effective than an attack from a single computer. Denial of service attacks can be problematic, especially when they cause large websites to be unavailable during high-traffic times.
social Engineering
- the use of centralized planning in an attempt to manage social change and regulate the future development and behaviour of a society.
Man in the midddle
- In cryptography and computer security, a man-in-the-middle attack (MITM) is an attack where the attacker secretly relays and possibly alters the communication between two parties who believe they are directly communicating with each other.
Data Interception
- Data Theft Definition. The unauthorized taking or interception of computer-based information. Data theft is the act of stealing computer-based information from an unknowing victim with the intent of compromising privacy or obtaining confidential information.
Packet Sniffing
- a sniffer program which targets packets of data transmitted over the Internet.
Message Tampering
- when a hacker stop a message or changes something about it to make it false
SQL Injection
- An SQL injection is a computer attack in which malicious code is embedded in a poorly-designed application and then passed to the backend database. The malicious data then produces database query results or actions that should never have been executed.
