1. There is a difference between these two ways of expressing the future

   • to be + going to
     • The future time with going to is most commonly used in spoken language when you want to refer to the immediate future
       • examples
         • She is going to pay with a credit card
   • will
     • The future with "will" is used to talk about decisions that are made while talking
       • example
         • I need to get my medicine. I will go to the pharmacy tonight.

2. It is also used to say predictions of a general way

   • example
     • I’m sure it will rain tomorrow
