    1. Ram stands for Random Access Memory.
      1. RAM is called "random access" because any storage location can be accessed directly.
        1. volatile data is data that can be lost when the conmputor is turned off.
          1. AM is a fast temporary type of memory in which programs, applications and data are stored.
            1. Therefore volatile data is RAM data.
          2. ROM
            1. Rom stands for Read-Only Memory.
              1. ROM is memory that cannot be changed by a program or user. ROM retains its memory even after the computer is turned off. For example, ROM stores the instructions for the computer to start up when it is turned on again.
                1. The ROM data cannot be changed by the user.
