PROBLEM SOLVING AND ALGORITHMS

  1. STEPS

    • Step 1: Obtain a description of the problem.
      • The identification of a situation. Made with a concrete description without being ambiguous or incomprehensible
    • Step 2: Analyze the problem.
      • Analising the problem to find the best way to lead to a solution. It is done by deciding what needs to be solved first and what later.
    • Step 3: Develop a high-level algorithm.
      • This referces that it is better if first a wide and general solution is found, and later focus on the details of it.
    • Step 4: Refine the algorithm by adding more detail.
      • After there is a high-level algorithm, the details that were missing must be said. This step is basically reforming what was stablished before.
    • Step 5: Review the algorithm.
      • The final step is to review the algorithm step by step to find out if it really helps accomplish the goal, or if it needs so be modified in anyway
  2. PROBLEM & SOLUTION

    • PROBLEM: A problem is a goal or situation that it needs to be done.
    • SOLUTION: A solution is the way a problem is solved using an algorithm as a method
  3. ALGORITHM

    • An algorithm is a plan/instructions for problem-solving situations. It can be represented in a more mathematical way or even graphical
