Resistance & Colour Code
What are Resistors
- A resistor is a passive electrical component with the primary function to limit the flow of electric current.”
How Does it Work
- Resistance act like water going trough a pipe
- The pressure difference that causes the water to flow can be compared to a voltage difference which causes the flow of electrical current.
Ohm’s LAW
- Voltage and Current is needed to calculated the Resistance in a circuit. To calculate the resistance, Ohm’s law will be used.
- R = V / I I = V / R V = R x I
- R = Resistance I = Current V = Voltage
Colour codes
- The colour bands on a resistor can be used to measure the resistance value.
