1. Idea: A survivalist wants to survive on a deserted island in the middle of the Pacific ocean for a couple of week on his own to see what it would be like.

   • His plane crashes about a km away from the island, killing the pilot and bringing a bunch of his gear down with it.
     • Turns out that the plane is slightly visible at low tide because it landed on a shallow sandbar that leads to the island.
       • He checks out the plane but it is a km away so he sets off along the sandbar at low tide and on his way he sees a shark swim close by and scares him and he falls off the sandbar and into the reef that is below him, cutting his leg.
         • Makes it to the crash site where most of his gear is waterlogged but some is salvageable.
           • Gets back to the island and he tries to survive as long as he can and wait for a boat or a plane to appear and try and signal it with smoke.
             • Nearly starved to death, he spots a boat on the horizon and creates a fire to smoke signal it
               • The story ends with him passing out from exhaustion and leaves it s a cliffhanger.
   • During the crash, he slips and a broken piece of metal from the plane gets stuck in his arm.
