key concepts FDE cycle and CPU
computer systems take data process it then output it
Embedded systems are computers built into other devices like washing machines, they are dedicated to one single task
clock speed is the number of instructions a processor can carry out per second
number of cores is the more cores a CPU has the more instructions it can take at once more cores = faster processing
cache size gives the CPU faster access, the larger the cache the more data it can access quicker
CPU fetches instructions from the RAM copies it into the MAR copies instruction to MDR and adds 1 to PC
the CU decodes the instruction from the MDR instruction is executed by the CU
the next instructions are fetched and the cycle repeats
CU: executes instructions and controls the flow of data in the CPU
Program counter: hold the memory address for the instruction of each cycle
