1. The incredibly confusing genealogy of Jesus is discussed

   • Jesus is said to be related to David and Abraham

2. The story of the birth of Jesus is told

   • Mary was found to be with child of the Holy Spirit
   • Joseph loved Mary so he was just going to dismiss her but then God came to him in a dream and told him the truth

3. The three wise men found baby Jesus in Bethlehem because they followed the star.

   • King Herod had them pay homage to the baby Jesus

4. An Angel of the Lord warned Joseph that Herod would kill baby Jesus so he took his family and fled to Egypt

   • Herod realized he had been tricked by the wise men and so he had all the babies under 2 in Bethlehem killed
   • The Angel said it was safe to return to Israel, cause Herod was dead, but his son was ruling so they went to Nazareth in Galilee

5. John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness and the people of Jerusalem and Judea came to be baptized by him

   • He proclaims the coming of Jesus but in a scary way
   • Jesus got baptized by John
     • Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness where he was tempted for 40 days & nights by the devil

6. Jesus called to his first disciples and they immediately left their boat and dad to follow him

7. Jesus gave the Sermon on the Mount

   • It's super duper long, like 4 pages of quoting Jesus

8. Jesus heals a multitude of people

   • Miracle stories

9. Jesus went around spreading the good news and healing people

   • Notice he doesn't tell people not to tell in this Gospel

10. Jesus gathered his 12 disciples and gave them power to heal every disease and sickness

    • Sends the 12 on a mission

11. Jesus warns the disciples against the coming persecutions

12. Jesus proclaims that whoever acknowledges him before others he will acknowledge before his father in Heaven

13. Jesus praised John the Baptists and referred to him as the messenger that prepared the way

    • John the Baptist died because of Herod
