    • Over-standardisation of goods led to increased cultural similarity - homogenity

    • Access to foreign goods is causing the desire for culturally distinct goods to fade

    • Leakages = loss of income from an economic system
  3. Trade

    • Developed Countries - allows cheap imports in through SDT agreements
    • Countries with less market access have less money for education & health care so quality of life is lower
    • Trade blocs of developed countries have access to wealthier buyers
      • LDCs outside the trade bloc may have to pay higher tariffs
      • LDCs dependent on selling low-value primary products that fluctuate in price - low GNI
    • Access is affected by wealth - HDC often put on higher on goods imported from LDCs
      • Harder for LDCs to access markets
