1. Components of a Wave

   • Peak/Crest
     • The highest point on a wave
   • Throught
     • The lowest point of a wave
   • Amplitude
     • The wavelength measured from the equilibrium line
   • Wavelenth
     • The distance in meters (crest to crest, throught to throught)
   • Frequency
     • Quantity of wave oscillations that pass a fixed point in a given direction during a specific time
   • Equilibrium line
     • The horizontal line in the middle of the wave

   • Speed = Distance/Time

4. Wave Interference

   • Constructive
     • When 2 waves meet in a way that their crest line up together
   • Destructive
     • The crest of one wave meets through another, and the result is a lower total amplitude

5. Types of Waves

   • Mechanical VS Electromagnetic
     • Mechanical: Wave that is not capable of transmitting its energy through a vacuum. Require a medium in order to transport their energy
     • Electromagnetic: They are produced by the vibration of charged particles
   • Pulse VS Periodic
     • Pulse: It is a single disturbance
     • Periodic: It is a continually oscillating motion
   • Transversal VS Longitudinal
     • Transversal: The particles are displaced perpendicular to the direction the waves travel
     • Longitudinal: The particles are displaced parallel to the direction the wave travels

6. Wave Behaviour

   • Diffraction: When Waves meet a gap in a barrier they pass through the gap, then they spread back out after they pass through the gap
   • Reflection: Bouncing back of waves from barrier they can't pass through
   • Refraction: Bending of waves as they enter a new medium at an angle and change speed
   • Standing Wave: Wave appearing to stand still that forms when a wave and it's reflected wave interfer
   • Wave interference: Interaction of waves with other waves
