     • unlimited duration

2. Studies relating to MSM

   • Miller (1957) found the magic number 7±2 meaning that there would be struggle remembering more than 9 pieces of information and can only remember 7 items comfortably
   • Glanzer & Cunitz (1966) found that participants could recall more from the start and end of lists rather the middle. This is the serial position effect. This is due to the words at the beginning being well rehearsed and encoded into LTM and the words at the end of the list being
