Graphical User Interface

Graphical User Interface

1. Desktop PC

   • Advantages
     • very organised , multiple windows can be open at once, you can type quickly using a keyboard and mouse, all programs are well organised and put on the desktop.
   • can be slow and frustrating on an older computer.

2. Mobile Phone

   • more compact than a desktop PC and a games console, very simple to understand and use as most mobile phones use icons and pictures, typing information is easy as a keyboard comes up so you can type, some phones run faster than others but more expensive ones usually run faster.
   • the screens are quite small on mobile phones, you cannot have as many windows open as a PC because the screen is small, if you have a cheap phone it will probably run slower.

3. Games Console

   • You can input information easily using a controller, screen size is very large as games consoles usually connect to a TV, interface design on for example a PlayStation 4 uses a lot of icons and simple words, games consoles usually do not run slowly.
   • you cannot have two tabs open at one time, the internet browser on a PC is much easier and better to use than a games console.

4. Electrical Appliance

   • with a smart fridge it can give you recipes and tips if you are cooking, you can regulate how cold the fridge is and you can browse the internet on some of them.
   • most smart fridges are very overpriced as most of them are double the price of normal fridges adn there isnt really a use for it as most of the things a smart fridge can do a phone and a PC can do .
