WILDERNESS

  1. As we transition into spring, I want to take the opportunity to stop and smell the roses so to speak. Through the use of digital pinhole photography, I intend to create a series that balances nature with development and celebrates its colours and idiosyncrasies. Looking at how the natural world can overwhelm our senses, how it balances and holds it own against the man-made. How its beauty has the capacity to bring joy and brighten the day.

    • PINHOLE PHOTOGRAPHY
      • Will give me the abstract, unfocused images I desire
  2. Natural, organic shapes and colours. Lack of focus/sharpness to allude to the feeling of waking up after a long sleep. Blurred/hazy images, with bright colours to represent the waking of spring.

    • PHOTOGRAPHIC QUALITIES:
      • -Warm, soft light -Hazy, blurred details -Light flares -Joyful, happy aesthetic -Bright, warm tone colours -High level of grain -Abstract, taken out of context/can't identify location image was made
    • EXAMPLES:
  3. Nature coming back to life after winter. Bursting at the seams to break into our concrete world. Perhaps literal examples of this - gardens growing up through concrete, pushing over fences, etc. EXAMPLES ABOVE

    • quotes to capture the sense of project
      • all things wild and wonderful
      • shrinking violet
      • it's a jungle out there
      • grass growing under your feet
      • blooms
      • bursting at the seams
  4. Flowers, nature, colours Photographs that celebrate the beauty in the world, and serve as a reminder to appreciate it. PREVIOUS WORKS BELOW:

  5. COLOURS: pinks, blues, greens, reds, yellows, purples
