SAFETY RULES FOR ELECTRONICS LABORATORIES

  1. To make use of the laboratory facilities, it is necessary to know the main risk to which we are exposed, the direct or indirect electrical contact with its consequences, and to comply with the security measures established below.

    • All posters with safety signs and warnings must be respected without exception.
    • It is necessary to use the personal protection elements indicated for each task. These are mandatory
    • Order and cleanliness of the table and workplace must be maintained. Each misplaced object represents a risk of falling, tripping, fire, among others.
    • It is important to avoid obstructing the corridors of the laboratories with backpacks or bags.
    • Do not work on electrical equipment while standing on wet floors. It should be placed on rubber.
    • Do not perform maneuvers for which you have not been trained or authorized.
    • Only persons authorized and involved in the electrical maintenance of equipment are the ones who will be able to carry out electrical repair work, no matter how small.
    • Before connecting a device, users / students should check that the connection is in optimal condition (cables under rubber, not spliced, connection plug in good condition, ground connection). If an unsafe condition is detected, it should be reported immediately.
    • Attention: when carrying out operations with a voltage of 220V or higher, you should never be alone. There must be at least two people.
    • When disconnecting equipment, the cable should not be pulled, but should be carefully removed from its connection socket.
    • When leaving the work site, it should be verified that all the electrical elements used are disconnected or, failing that, turned off.
    • It is forbidden to enter with drinks or food.
    • Extreme caution should be exercised when using hot sources or open flames. To do this, prior to the start of the activity, the extinguishing means must be checked and available, the area cleared of flammable elements, and minimized sources of ignition and fire load.
