Renewable energy
Are alternatives clearer than fossil fuels for environment. This energy is in nature, it has continous flow. And it dissipates through natural cycles. Renewable energies sometimes consumed can be regenerated naturally or artificially.
- Solar thermal energy
- History: The first inventors were the Greeks and Romans. They were able to ignite the torches of religious rituals, with artifacts exposed to the sun so that radiation would concentrate on their focus reaching high temperatures and at the time a torch was put in the spotlight it ignited in a few seconds.
- in Switzerland, Horace de Saussure in 1767 invented what was called the Hot Box. The result was that with its hot box it managed to reach temperatures of up to 109 C. From his invention will arise all subsequent developments of solar heaters.
- Uses: flat plate solar water heaters that have provided hot water for thermal applications, both in buildings, for hot water, heating and cooling, as well as in industrial processes that need fluid heating.

- Photovoltaic solar energy
- History: Alexandre Edmond Becquerel discovered the photovoltaic effect in 1938, as well as the direct transformation of light into electricity.
- In 1877, William Grylls Adams Professor of Natural Philosophy at King College London, along with his student Richard Evans Day, created the first selenium photovoltaic cell.
- Gerald Pearson of Bell Laboratories patented the first photovoltaic cell in 1953, manufactured a silicon-based photovoltaic cell that was much more efficient than any made of selenium.
- Uses: Photovoltaic plates as energy suppliers. Used in small appliances, lighting systems, remote sensors, water pumping and desalination systems, at power plants Photovoltaic self-consumption is an alternative to CO2 reduction

- Eolic energy
- History: From the 2nd century in China men used windmills to grind grains or pump water.
- The first person to use the wind to generate electricity was Charles F. Brush, in 1888, who built the Brush pole mill, which produced 12 kw, sparked interest in renewable energy.
- Uses: Generate constant electricity without producing carbon dioxide emissions. To reduce high electricity generation costs. Generate electricity to all types of engine.

- Biomass
- History: It is the oldest form of energy exploited by humanity, basically the branches and trunks of trees that by burning them produced light and heat.
- In American, Asian and European villages, it was common to house animals under houses; this had the function of keeping the animals inside the home as it kept them a little warmer.
- Uses: domestic, firewood as much as biogas are used to cook in rural locations in the commercial sector, is used in restaurants and small businesses in communion with the domestic sector for steam production helps boost economic development and job creation in depressed areas.

- Geothermal energy
- It is the energy from the heat that exists inside the Earth The heat found inside the planet is a lasting energy, different from wind and solar energies, it is constant and independent of the seasons and weather conditions.
- Uses: used to cook their food, bathe with hot water, and heat homes, greenhouses and stables reduce dependence on oil and other fossil fuels . As electric power, geothermal plants channel high-temperature steam Bathrooms and pools, to fill the spas, Direct heating, heating by means of circuits.

- Hydraulic energy
- History: At the beginning of the Industrial Revolution when water energy was harnessed for electricity production the first hydroelectric plant was built in Northumberland, United Kingdom, in the year 1880, especially with regard to the invention of the electric generator and the improvement of hydraulic turbines.
- Uses: Grinding grain or crushing materials high in cellulose for electricity production for public distribution networks private industry, such as aluminum processing plants .
