1. CARTESIAN SYSTEM

   • Meaning
     • To describe the position of point on a plane .
   • To perpendicular lines
     • Abscissa
     • Ordinate
   • Divided to 4 quadrants.
     • 1st quadrant (+, +)
     • 2nd quadrant (-, +)
     • 3rd quadrant (-, -)
     • 4 th quadrant (+, -)

2. Graph of linear equation.

   • Convet given equation in the form y =mx+c
     • Select 3 values for x
       • Draw a table
         • Plot these points on the graph
           • Draw a straight line passing through the plotted points.

3. Plotting point on a plane ( 3,8)

   • Draw co- ordinate axes and select points.
     • Starting from origin, count units on x and you axes.
       • Mark the corresponding points.
