INDUCTOR
DEFINITION
- passive electrical component that opposes sudden changes in current
DESIGN
- formed with wire tightly wrapped around a solid central core to concentrate their magnetic flux
USE
- slow down current surges by temporarily storing energy in an electromagnetic field and then releasing it back into the circuit
APPLICATIONS
- Choking, blocking, attenuating, or filtering/smoothing high-frequency noise in electrical circuits
- Storing and transferring energy in power converters
- Creating tuned oscillators or LC (inductor/capacitor) "tank" circuits
- Impedance matching
HOW IT WORKS
- As the water flows, it reaches the branches.
- The water wheel will take time to move and it will add resistance to the pipe making it difficult for water to flow.
- The water will then take the path of the reducer. The wheel will begin to turn faster until it reaches its maximum speed.
- Now the wheel doesn’t provide almost any resistance so the water can flow through this path. The water will stop flowing through the reducer and will flow through the wheel.
- When turning off the pump, the wheel will rotate so fast it will act as a pump. We can turn the pump on and off and the water wheel will keep the water moving for a short duration during the interruptions.

REFLECTION
- Inductors are part of our everyday lives since they play an important role in the use of electrical devices. I really enjoyed doing this assignment since it was a more fun way to learn about a new topic and also because I really had a great time designing the visual aesthetic of the information displayed. I believe inductors are very important since they supply energy to the circuit to maintain current flow during “off” switching periods, thus enabling topographies where output voltage exceeds input voltage.
