The coursebook.

  1. Course book or no course book?

    • Advantage:
      • Good textbooks are carefully prepared to offer a coherent syllabus, satisfactory language control, motivational texts, audiotapes / CDs, and other accessories such as video / DVD material, CD-ROM, and additional resource material.
    • restrictions:
      • Textbooks, used improperly, impose learning styles and content on classes and teachers alike, appearing to be "fait accompli" over which they may have little influence
  2. Using coursebooks

    • They use them to help their students and, what is more, to structure and direct their own teaching. The most important aspect of using the coursebook is that teachers try to engage students with the content they are going to cover.
      • Skip and replace:
        • We believe that the language or subject area in question is important, we will have to replace the lesson in the course book with our own preferred alternative.
        • It is important to remember that students need to be able to see a consistent pattern to what we are doing and understand our reasons for changes.
  3. Ways of showing

    • Over the years, technology has changed the way teachers and students can teach each other things. We are going to run on four great presentation aids.
      • The board.
        • The most versatile piece of classroom teaching equipment is the blackboard, be it the more traditional variety of powdered chalk, a blackboard written with markers, or a POI. Meetings provide a motivating focal point throughout the class meeting.
      • Note-pad
        • Teachers often write things on the board as they come up during the lesson. It can be words that they want students to remember, phrases that students.
      • Explanation aid.
        • The boards can also be used as an explanation. For example, we can show the relationship between an affirmative sentence and a question by drawing connecting arrows
  4. The overhead projector

    • One of the main advantages of the overhead projector is that we don't have to show everything on one OHT at once. Covering part of the transparency with a cardboard or paper, we can erase what we do not want the students to see. So, for example, we could show the first two lines of a story and ask students what will happen next before revealing the next two lines.
  5. Ways of finding out

    • Discovering things has never been easier than in the 20th century. The wide range of reference material both online and offline (in CD form) is almost endless. This is especially useful for language learners.
      • Dictionaries
        • Students can access dictionaries in book form, on CD-ROM, using small electronic devices, and on the web.
          • Paper dictionaries:
            • They are colorful and arranged in a way that makes things like frequency, placement, different meanings, pronunciation, etc., extremely clear.
  6. Practice the language on the Internet and on CD-ROM

    • There are many websites on the Internet for students to practice the language. The practice material is also available on CD-ROM. Some of the material is related to a particular course book, while other material is independent.
  7. Ways of composing.

    • Computers and the Internet offer many opportunities for students and teachers to compose material in ways other than using pencils, pens, and paper. We will examine some of the increasingly common methods of creating material by and for students and teachers.
      • Word processing, word editing.
        • When students working in groups use word processing software, anyone can offer and execute changes without causing unattractive tacks or forcing the guy to turn a page.
        • Allow teachers to give feedback in a different way. We can use submenus dedicated to the software, such as tracking changes in Microsoft Word to show where things have gone wrong or simply giving comments and corrections in a different color from the original student text.
  8. Questions...

    • These questions apply not only to new technologies, but also to any new methodology, procedures, textbooks, or study programs that are offered to teachers.
      • What is the pedigree?
        • A good rule of thumb is to always be suspicious, for example, of websites where you cannot find out who is responsible for them.
      • Who gains?
        • Who will be the beneficiary of our purchase? If we can be sure that students will benefit, then it can be
