Computer components

1. CPU

   • the CPU (Central Processing Unit ) the is the brain of the computer and tells the other components what they need to do , the CPU uses switches using binary to stop and start processes.
   • heatsink
     • The heatsink takes away alot of the processors heat to stop it from over heating and catching fire.
     • thermal paste
       • small amounts of thermal paste are added between the cpu and the heatsink  to take away most of the heat and allow the heatsink to absorb the heat from the processor and stop the cpu from burning out , as it gets very hot and without the heatsink the spu will catch fire  

2. GPU

   • the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) is a card that is used for rendering images that are are displayed very quickly on screens

3. PSU

   • The (PSU) is the Power Supply Unit . which powers all of the components inside of the computer .

4. Motherboard

   • The motherboard is a circuit board that holds and connects all of the components toghether 

5. RAM

   • RAM (Random Access Memory) RAM is much faster than reading data from the hard drive. so it is used to help run programs , without any lag time

6. Hard drive

   • Hard Drive (HDD) a Hard Drive is a component that is used to permanently store information which could be for example  program information , photographs , documents ,files . and most importantly the OS (operation system) 

7. ROM

   • ROM (Read-Only-Memory) ROM is a chip located on the motherboard that contains certain instructions for example one ROM chip may contain information for the computers bios . without the ROMs instructions the computer will not be able to boot up .

8. USB Port

   • USB (Universal Serial Bus) this is used to import information onto the computer and it is also used to transfer information to other devices .

9. System Fan

   • This fan is usually installed on the case of the computer usually at the back . Its perpose is to blow away dust from the components and to keep good airflow to the components sotheydont overheat. 

10. Sound Card

    • Sound Card (Audio Output Device) this card is used in a pci-e port if the audio input is not intergrated into the computer . it is used for allowing the computer to output sound so the user can play music on their speakers (input and output )
