Network Security.

  1. Fire wall

    • Fire Wall is like a wall between different computers that stops data coming in or going out.
    • We need Firewall to stop data being transferred from one computer to another.
    • If we didn't have Firewalls a lot of data could be changed or accessed by people who we don't want to.
  2. Encryption

    • Encryption is where it scrambles up your work once you've saved it so no one else can read it. You can only unscramble the work if you know how it has been scrambled.
  3. Passwords

    • A password is used to stop anybody else from hacking or logging into your account. You need a password to protect and files that are personal.
    • We need passwords to protect our accounts and what is on them such as personal information or data.
    • If we didn't have passwords then anybody could take money out of your bank account or spread/ find out information about you.
  4. Physical Security

    • Physical security is where something for example a server is protected by different things such as locks, doors, fans or alarms.
  5. User Access Level

    • A user access level is where different people have different privileges with different accounts.
    • We need user access levels so people who shouldn't know our data or our personal information don't and so people dont download things or change the network settings so the networks shut down.
    • If we did not have this then everybody could access things we dont want them too but they could also download things or change the settings so the network breaks.
