1. ROM

   • Read Only Memory
   • starts the computer
   • non-volatile
     • when computer is turned off memory will still be saved there
   • rom is slower than RAM

2. RAM

   • slower than cache
   • random access memory
   • cheaper than cache
   • more storage compared to cache

3. Cache

   • volatile
     • when computer is turned of all memory is lost
   • faster than RAM
   • built into CPU
   • cost more than RAM
   • less storage than RAM

4. Flash Memory

   • non-volatile
   • used for fast and easier information storage
   • it erases data in units called blocks
   • used for storage and data transfer
   • is cheaper than RAM

5. Solid State Storage

   • durable
     • no moving parts
   • cheap
   • non-volatile
   • it stores and retrieves digital informations
