1. What is a character?

   • A character is someone who experiences the events of a story.
   • They have a personality, emotions, goals, and actions that influence what happens.

2. A character is a person, animal, creature, or fictional being that takes part in a story. Characters help bring the story to life and make it interesting for the audience.

3. Role in a story

   • Characters are essential because they move the plot forward.
   • They create conflict, solve problems, build relationships, and help communicate the story's message or theme.
   • They also allow the audience to connect emotionally with the story by identifying with one of the characters.

4. Types of characters

   • Stories usually include different types of characters that accomplish different "functions".
     • The protagonist is the main character, usually the "good".
     • The antagonist creates obstacles or conflicts for the protagonist.
     • Supporting characters help develop the plot and other characters
     • Minor characters appear briefly but still contribute to the story.

5. Character development

   • Characters can also be idientified by how they change.
     • A round character has a complex personality with many traits, strengths, and weaknesses, making them feel realistic.
     • A flat character has only one or two main traits and does not have much depth.

6. Relationships

   • Characters interact with other characters through friendships, family relationships, rivalries, romances, or teamwork.
     • These relationships often create conflict or help the characters grow.

7. Their use on media

   • Characters appear in many forms of media, such as books, movies, television shows, cartoons, comics, video games, and theater.
     • Each medium uses characters to tell stories, entertain audiences and even complaint about real problematics
