Virtual Memory

1. Virtual memory is only used why RAM is full. It uses the available space of a hard drive to save the files that would usually go to RAM. The files that won't be needed in the near future will be stored in Virtual Memory and will be fetched back to RAM when needed

2. Disk Thrashing is where a file in moved between virtual memory and RAM quiet often. This process will significantly slow down the computer

3. You can decrease the need for virtual memory and speed up your computer with more RAM. Virtual memory is only used if RAM is full, more RAM means that less virtual memory will be needed increase the data recall time if the computer doesn't have to fetch the data from virtual memory and put it into RAM
